Weekends are a good time to unwind. For that, we’ve rounded up the most fun and interesting stories we came across this week — the ones we texted our friends about. Enjoy.
The Story
Kids these days are trying to glow up before they grow up.
Give me the truth serum.
With the holiday shopping season in full swing, parents are noticing some un-Ordinary items on their kids’ wish lists. Scooters and Barbies have been replaced with sheet masks and anti-aging serums. The proof is in the moisturizer, err, pudding: Experts reportedly expect the younger generation’s beauty wish lists to fuel this season’s spending. But their obsession with beauty could take an ugly turn.
How bad can it be?
Back in the day, we relied on Dove bars and Clean & Clear (‘and under control’) to stay fresh. Now, beauty fanatics are getting younger and younger. Kids are (face)rolling through videos of 12-step skincare routines, child makeup influencers, endless beauty trends, and age-related filters — causing many to feel the pressure. Experts fear this could negatively impact their mental health and physical appearance. Especially for young women and girls. As for guys, well, many seem to stick with their 18-in-1 products.

The youth beauty craze is getting under some people’s skin. As Gen Z and Gen Alpha continue to block the beauty aisle, some may wonder if a stronger foundation is needed to stop things from getting out of control.
what's happening
👑 In girl world...
Women are taking over TikTok — in more ways than one. Naiomi Glasses is bringing new life to Ralph Lauren. And Mattel’s Wilma Mankiller Barbie has people talking.
👖 In fashion...
While everyone’s wrapped up in oversize shawls, the new faces of women watch collectors are clocking in. That’s as short suits and not-so-winter whites are sure to hit the streets (and the stores). Oh and one handy tip: You can easily DIY your own “eating pants.”
🙃 In adulting…
Saying ‘good morning’ to strangers is good for you, apparently. So is having good family group chat etiquette. But if your social battery runs out, maybe take a rain check on plans. Or, opt for a good girls’ night instead — filled with laughter, fun, and “conversational chemistry.”
