EDITOR'S NOTE

We’d be remiss if we didn’t send love to our Skimm’rs in the Los Angeles area. If you’re looking to donate or help those impacted, check out these important links:

  • Baby2Baby. The nonprofit is distributing emergency supplies including diapers, food, formula, and more.

  • Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery. This social media account provides daily updates on supplies and volunteer needs for teenage victims of the Eaton fire.

  • This comprehensive spreadsheet, which lists brands providing free products — from clothing and toiletries to care packages and cookware.

Bento Snack Boxes

Get a set of four food storage containers for just under $15.

Margo here. When our social media manager raved about these bento boxes from Amazon, I knew I had to try them for myself. She used them for keeping snacks organized for a multi-day road trip, but I think they’d be great for keeping cut veggies prepped throughout the week. They have four compartments with a snap-on lid, and the stackable design means they won’t get lost in a cabinet. Put them on the top rack of your dishwasher when you’re ready to clean them.

Three Totally Random Things

Going Home by Tom Lamont

  • The story: Téo Erskine is well into his thirties and takes pride in having his life “together.”  When tragedy strikes within his childhood friend group, he suddenly finds himself as the caretaker of a toddler and rethinking the path he wants his life to take. This coming-of-age debut is hilariously written and the ideal “I’m looking to feel something” read.
