We’ll admit it: One major perk of our job as editors is that we get to try out tons of products to let you know if they’re truly worth your hard-earned money. So in the nature of tossing gatekeeping to the curb, we’re sharing our favorite pairs of jeans that we usually reserve for the group chat. Because they really are that good (and we’ll be super sad if they sell out and we can’t get them anymore). Without further ado…
A pair that isn't too tight in the leg...
I love these jeans. I'm not into the feeling of tight jeans around my hips, so these provide that tiny bit of wiggle room. I can move in them, tuck sweaters into them, and feel like they're a flexible pair that don't get uncomfortable as the day goes on. They come in numerous colors and are cropped, so it's easy to show off boots and loafers. –Alexandra Napoli ($118, Everlane)
A baggy pair that actually stays up...
I have a serious problem finding jeans with a baggy fit that'll sit correctly on my waist. These have such a great cut — I don't need a belt to keep them up, and they have a wide leg that's so flattering the whole way down. Plus, the light and dark washes go with almost every top I have in my closet. Doesn't get better than that. –Beck Diaz ($128, Free People)
The pair people are talking about...
I noticed fashion people were losing it over the Levi's Ribcage Full Length, so I had to see what the hype was about. I can’t quite explain it, but when I put these on for the first time I felt like…a woman. By some sorcery, they accentuate my waist and my curves at the same time. They make me feel like I can put them on with a pair of sophisticated heels and have an entire outfit. Not to mention the medium wash is exactly what my denim collection was missing. I recommend sizing up; these are stiff in the best way possible. –Martha Upton ($98, Shopbop)
A pair that goes with any shoe...
I’m delighted to see that cropped demi-flares are in again, mainly because I’ve been wearing this Madewell pair for about five years, and I can’t get enough of them. They have the perfect amount of stretch to feel comfortable and surprisingly cozy. Yet they also have a sleek-enough structure. I love a cropped demi-flare because they add a little bit of interest (dare I say flair?) to flats, boots, and even sneakers. And of course, the best part about Madewell is you can pick from countless washes and lengths that work best for you. –Margo Ghertner ($59.99+, Madewell)
The most comfortable pair of jeans we own...
You'd never guess by looking at them, but these are the most comfortable jeans I own. They feel super-soft and have a ton of stretch to mold to your shape, but they magically maintain their shape throughout the day. None of the dreaded sagginess in the knees or bum. The ultra high-rise, wide-leg silhouette has a retro vibe (and also elongates my silhouette, always a plus) and the inseam fits my 5-foot frame perfectly. I always get compliments on these. –Caroline Goldstein ($209, Bloomingdale's)
The Abercrombie jeans that defy the dreaded waist gap...
I don't wear a lot of jeans since I constantly struggle to find ones that fit me right. I have to size up to fit my hips and thighs, but then always end up with a massive gap in the back of the waist. Abercrombie's Curve Love jeans might be the best thing that has ever happened to the denim world. I know I can buy my true size and they will fit me perfectly with no gap. If you know you know, this is a true miracle. I also just really love the wash options, and the fit on the leg gives me that perfect vintage-jean look. –Celia Skvaril ($90, Abercrombie & Fitch)
