What I Tested…

Embrace’s Soft Ribbed Nursing Tank Top ($62)

Why I Tested…

Why I Tested

How I Tested…

I wore the tank top all day a few times a week for about three weeks, either as a bottom layer or on its own. I wore it with and without the removable padding.

Test Results…

  • Comfort/Quality. I’ve got enough discomfort going on postpartum — I want my tanks to be comfy, durable, and make me feel good. This top checked all the boxes thanks to a soft cotton blend that’s stretchy, snug, and feels great on the skin (and boobs). It’s stretchy enough to wear during pregnancy, too.

  • Style. You know it’s a win when you want to keep wearing it even after you’re done breastfeeding (I think I threw out most of my nursing tanks after my first). I love that these tank tops are ribbed, fitted, and flattering. They fit true to size and are great to wear year-round.

  • Support. The built-in bra is essential for nursing moms, especially if you’re a leaky mess and are constantly switching out nursing pads. I also love that it comes with removable padding, because since my boobs deflated back to their normal state (IYKYK), I like having some extra structure. Note: The material isn’t thin, but if you wear it without any padding, you will probably see some nipple.

  • Design. These tops have clasps at the front that you can easily unclip to breastfeed — even with the removable pad in. They also have adjustable straps.

Sidenotes…

  • Washing. The tops have held up well after going through the washing machine several times. I hang them up to dry, even though the instructions say to lay flat. I think as long as you skip the dryer, they should be fine (and they dry quickly).

  • Daily ribbed maternity tank. A great option if you don’t want the built-in bra — it’s the same soft material that stretches enough so you can easily pull down for nursing. ($42)

  • Colors. The lilac color is gorgeous, and while I like having the classic black (it also comes in cocoa brown and camel), I wish they had more fun colors.

  • Price. These tops are pricier than many nursing tank tops out there, but if you’re looking for something that’s cute and will last, then it’s well worth the investment.
