Our favorite way to mark the end of yet another year? Taking stock of all the things you bought. In 2023, we presented you with countless clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories (shoutout to Fashion You’ll Actually Wear Week), and today, we’re rounding up all the fashion items you loved the most. From Ugg slippers to claw clips, sunnies to PJs, here are the most popular clothes and accessories that Skimm’rs stocked their closets with this year.

A multipack of colorful claw clips…
Claw clips > hair ties. We said what we said. Skimm’rs couldn’t stop buying this handy (and cheap) multipack of hair clips from Amazon. It comes with two clip styles and several matte colors, ranging from neutrals to candy brights, so you can mix and match to suit your mood. We rec keeping one of these in every bag. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)
An affordable pair of sunglasses that happen to be a designer dupe…
Don’t want to shell out $400 dollars for the real thing? We've got you covered. One of our editors swears by this trendy rectangular pair from Amazon that's under $15. So if you’re constantly worrying about losing your favorite pair and want a budget-friendly option, look no further. ({{dynamicPrice}}, Amazon)
PJs you’ll want to buy in bulk…
And you can, since they’re under $25 per pair, even though they look like much more expensive brands. They’re made of super-soft modal and are available in five colors and patterns. Of course, if you’d rather treat yourself to the luxury version, we’d support that, too. (PS: New moms take note — the button-down shirt is perfect for nursing.) ($21.99, Target)
The high-rise jeans our editors swear by…
Several HQ'rs have these jeans and wear them on a weekly basis. The '90s inspired silhouette is fitted in the waist (but not constricting) and more relaxed in the leg for the perfect balance between comfort and style. Even better: They're available in sizes 24-37 and five different inseam lengths to fit pretty much everyone. They also come in over 20 unique washes, so no one will know if you have multiple pairs. ($90, Abercrombie & Fitch)
The Skims bodysuit you couldn’t get enough of (and neither could we)...
We swear by Skims bodysuits, and you seem to agree. This one from the brand’s Fits Everybody line is the perfect starting point for your Skims journey. The material is light and airy, but it still offers enough support that you don’t need to wear a bra with it, even if you have a larger chest. It creates a smooth line underneath your clothes, but the flattering square neckline looks pretty as a top on its own. It comes in every neutral shade under the sun, plus some trendy colors like red and pink. ($58, Skims)
Faux-leather leggings that double as pants during the colder months…
Because why wear jeans if you don’t have to? The faux-leather coating makes these look more elevated than your workout leggings, so you can wear them confidently outside the gym. They also have a high waistband that offers shaping and compression (they are Spanx, after all). Pair them with an oversized sweater and boots for the perfect cold-weather outfit. ($98, Nordstrom)
The next It Slipper…
You heard it here first: This classic shearling-lined slipper with a slight platform is Ugg’s next big hit. We can’t think of anything better than slipping our feet into these after a shower or on our way to grab coffee. The decision is not whether to buy, but which color to get. ($110, Nordstrom)
A T-shirt bra we actually like wearing…
With its contoured cups and breathable mesh outer layer, this bra is comfortable enough to wear all day under your favorite T-shirt. The stretchy lace never digs into our sides and gives it a pretty touch worthy of your lingerie drawer. It comes in nineteen colors. ($72, Nordstrom)
The cooling undershorts you never knew you needed…
We’re not exaggerating when we say these will change your life, especially during the warmer months. If you used to avoid wearing dresses on sweaty days because of the dreaded thigh rub, these will solve your problem immediately. They’re stretchy, breathable, and actively wick moisture from your skin to prevent uncomfortable chafing. We really can’t recommend them enough. ($39, Thigh Society)
Men’s sweatpants you’ll actually want him to wear…
These joggers will become his new uniform, and you’ll be more than okay with that. Soft tech fabric brings the comfort, but the streamlined silhouette and elevated details (like a back pocket and thick drawstring) look so much nicer than his usual loungewear. The material is also resistant to pilling and fading, so they’ll stand up to lots of wear. ($98, Nordstrom)
A classic coat you’ll be wearing forever…
There’s no such thing as owning too many coats. Not when they’re as timeless as this one, anyway. With its notched lapels, slanted side pockets, and other classic tailored details, this makes any outfit you throw it on with look polished — whether that’s jeans or a cocktail dress. Get it in black, camel, or navy, or go bold with Barbie pink. ($240, Nordstrom)
The sneakers you’re seeing on everyone and their mother…
You’ve probably seen them on your morning commute or on runners in the neighborhood. Can confirm: They’re definitely worth the hype. This streamlined pair is great for walks, short runs, and cross-training. They’re lightweight, supportive, and ultra durable. One HQ’r throws hers in the wash and they come out good as new. Grab a pair before they sell out. ($125, Hoka)
A tank dress that’s extremely comfortable…
Let us put you on to one of the most comfortable pieces we’ve ever worn. The ribbed cotton fabric feels like wearing your favorite worn-in tee, and plenty of stretch ensures the perfect fit. This is the kind of piece you’ll wear on a weekly basis, all year round. It comes in seven colors and sizes XS–4X. ($15, Target)
A packable jacket with more than 2,000 five-star reviews…
It’s ultra-light, down-filled, and covers your butt and upper legs. Aka, all the makings of the ideal daily winter jacket. Plus, it’s water-repellent with a detachable hood, so it’s suitable for light rain, sleet, or snow. Customers love that it doesn’t make them look as bulky as other puffers. It also rolls up into a tiny little package, so it won’t take up much storage space over the summer. ($37.99, 32 Degrees)
The essential V-neck sweater…
This is so lightweight that it almost feels like you’re wearing a T-shirt. The weight is also ideal for year-round wear. (We like wearing it underneath oversized cardis in freezing weather, and as a light outer layer on chilly summer evenings.) Take your pick from ten colors. ($60, Banana Republic Factory)
