Although you would truly need to be living under a rock to not know about Skims bras, you would be forgiven if you’ve never actually tried one for yourself — because we’ll admit that we hadn’t, either. As it’s our duty and our privilege to test hype-y products and tell you whether they’re really worth it, we’ve been wearing two of the brand’s most popular styles: the Fits Everybody Crossover Bralette and the Fits Everybody T-Shirt Bra. Here’s what we thought of the comfort, fit, and overall quality.

What we thought about the bralette...

  • Material. Honestly, Ali wasn’t expecting the quality to be as good as it is (same goes for the bra). We both found the material to be super-soft — it almost has a velvety feel to it — but it’s not flimsy, so you still feel covered. I especially love the power mesh lining, which offers a little more support and a breathable feel.

  • Fit and comfort. Like a regular bra, this bralette has three rows of hook-and-eye closures and adjustable straps. (The straps are also adjustable, so you can wear it as a racerback.) I bought my usual size and found the cups to fit perfectly but the band to be a bit snug, and since the band is on the thinner side, it digs in a tiny bit. But the super-soft material is enough to keep me reaching for it. I also like that it doesn’t give you that triangle-boob look underneath my shirts (I know you know what I’m talking about).

  • Support. This provides light-to-medium support at best, so Ali prefers wearing it with a looser shirt rather than something more fitted. She agrees that it has a nice, cozy feel and is great to throw on when working from home or running errands.

What we thought about the bra...

  • Material. This material is so much softer than other underwire bras we own — it’s smooth and not itchy whatsoever. Like the Crossover Bralette, this comes in a wide range of neutral shades. Ali and I both found ones that matched our skin tones well, so they weren’t noticeable underneath white tops.

  • Fit and comfort. I’m not a fan of underwire, so I’m never going to think this is the most comfortable bra ever. I’m definitely aware of wearing this thing all day. That said, the material is incredibly soft, and the underwire doesn’t dig in as much as other underwires I’ve worn. Word to the wise: I ordered my usual bra size, but I actually found the cups to be a bit too big. I can still get away with wearing it by tightening the straps, but it's not perfect.

  • Support. The bra provides great support, so Ali felt lifted and covered, without any pinching or digging. Personally, I also like that the cups don’t have any padding, so this gives you a nice, naturally defined look.

Sidenotes...

A strapless bra that actually stays up…

Yes, really. The strapless bra from Skims’ Fits Everybody line has a cushioned underwire for painless support, and a silicone band along the wings to keep it in place. This also comes with removable, adjustable straps, so you can wear it with tops and dresses with any kind of neckline. ($54)

A wireless bra with more coverage…

This is a nice everyday option for people seeking a little more coverage than the T-shirt bra offers, since it has full-coverage cups that extend onto the shoulders. It’s also reinforced with thicker, double-bonded straps, a cushioned underwire, and wider wings. The whole thing is seamless and smoothing, so it'll disappear under T-shirts and clingier tops. ($54)

A bralette you can also wear for low-impact workouts…

Here’s your new go-to lounge bralette. It’s made of soft, stretchy cotton jersey — probably the same material as your favorite pajamas — and the pullover style is completely free of hooks and hardware, though it does have adjustable straps so you can find a good fit. And if you happen to want to get off the couch for a bit of yoga, stretching, or a walk, you don’t need to change your bra first. ($32)
