Products you buy through our links may earn us a commission. Oh, and if something's out of stock, oops, it was there (and all prices were accurate) at time of publication.

We’ll admit it: One major perk of our job as editors is that we get to try out tons of products to let you know if they’re truly worth your hard-earned money. We’re also just avid shoppers, so in the spirit of tossing gatekeeping to the curb, we’re sharing a few standout favorites from the past month that we usually reserve for the group chat. Welcome to the inside scoop.

pads
Naturopathica

Exfoliating pads that revitalize our summer skin...

I started using these resurfacing pads a few weeks ago, and really like them so far. I've seen and felt a difference in my skin, especially any roughness around my nose. My skin takes a beating in the summer — I'm in the sun more (with sunscreen) and I work my hardest to stay hydrated (although I could always do better). I was looking for an effective exfoliator to help remove buildup and dead skin. I will say due to the high level of exfoliating acids, those who have sensitive skin should definitely patch test first. I've had no issue, but everyone’s skin is different. –Alexandra Napoli ($70, Naturopathica)

jeans
Free People

Our new favorite Levi's jeans...

I’ve held out on buying low-rise jeans because I just like my high-waisted jeans too much, and I was skeptical about the trend's lasting power. But after seeing them on fall mood boards for this year, I set out to find a just-right pair. Surprising no one, Levi’s knocked it out of the park with this pair. They hit just below my belly button, so I don’t feel like too much skin is showing. They’re also not too baggy in the back, so they don't totally drown my figure. Plus, I love the light wash and subtle distressing. I’m looking forward to leaning into the tomboy aesthetic this fall. –Martha Upton ($118, Free People)

milk-frother
Amazon

A milk frother that makes our kitchen the best coffee shop...

After leaving New York and my precious matcha spot earlier this summer, I decided to start making my matcha lattes at home. I bought this milk frother from Amazon, and I haven’t gone a day without reaching for it. It’s compact, looks cute on my countertop, and has a variety of temperature and froth settings depending on what I’m making. I’m shocked and deeply impressed with how well it froths (and it’s under $70). My trick for creamy, cafe-level lattes at home: sift the matcha directly into the frother along with your milk of choice. I can’t wait to use it for hot chocolate come winter. dining-chairs
Rove Concepts

The perfect dining room chairs...

After two years of searching, I finally found my dream dining chairs from Rove Concepts. They're incredibly comfortable, thanks to the cushioned seat and curved back, and the ivory bouclé fabric is super-soft. I love how they add an elegant yet cozy touch to the room, without leaning overly feminine (not my style). They also came quickly, were easy to assemble, and the customer service was wonderful. If you're looking to invest in new furniture, 10/10 would recommend this brand. –Caroline Goldstein ($439, Rove Concepts)

shorts
Everlane

A pair of lounge shorts that are still put-together...

I've been reaching for these Off-Duty Shorts on a weekly basis. They're perfect for work-from-home days when I want to feel comfortable, but still look polished enough to run out for errands. The stretchy waistband doesn't dig in, and the material is thick enough to feel like "real" clothes. They're basically a grown-up version of the Soffe shorts I used to live in at summer camp. –Caroline Goldstein ($58, Everlane)

serum
Selfmade

A serum that soothes our sensitive skin...

I've been using this serum for about six months now, and I swear it's the reason my skin looks so clear. Normally, summer leaves my skin red and irritated, but this year, I've been getting so many compliments. It has this amazing cooling effect that feels like a mini spa treatment and a deliciously light scent that's not overwhelming at all. If you have sensitive-combination skin like me, you're going to love it. –Sarai Thompson ($36, Selfmade)

espresso-maker
Terra Kaffe

An at-home espresso machine that's worth the investment...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: This automatic espresso machine from Terra Kaffe (also known as the TK-02) has been my favorite recent splurge. While the price tag is hefty, I find myself actively choosing to make my caramel lattes at home, which saves me money in the long run. It lets you create your favorite drink and customize the menu — which you can scroll through and start brewing via the connected app on your phone. I love it so much I filmed my experience with it. Cheers. –Alessandra Rey ($1,595, Terra Kaffe)
